The Marine Biomarkers Lab is equipped with an Agilent 8890 Gas Chromatograph coupled with a 5977C Mass Spectrometer (GC-MS), which allows for precise and accurate measurements of various compounds. The lab is primarily set up to conduct state-of-the-art analysis of highly branched isoprenoids, including IP25, which are unique biomarkers serving as proxies for primary production in Arctic sea ice.
We are also equipped for stable isotope sample preparation.
